Miami-Dade County Classification: Homeless Trust Contract Monitor
Position: HMIS Asst. Administrator
Reports to: HMIS Administrator

The Homeless Trust is the HUD Collaborative Applicant and HMIS Lead Agency for Miami-Dade County. The Asst. System Administrator for HMIS is primarily responsible for assisting with the implementation of HMIS in Miami-Dade County. The Asst. System Administrator will serve as a contact for end users seeking helpdesk support on the use of the system and will conduct HMIS related trainings with end users at provider agencies. The Asst. System Administrator will work with the HMIS Administrator and Asst. Executive Director on efforts to ensure the accuracy of data entered in to the system and will assist with both small- and large-scale reporting projects, data requests, and data sharing.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
1. Provides training and help desk support for end users
2. Develops HMIS-related training curriculum, schedule and notice monthly user group meetings, prepare agenda and meeting materials
3. Conducts regular reviews of client level data to ensure completeness and congruity of records with emphasis on retraining providers with poor performance
4. Develops monthly dashboard reports on system performance measures; confer with the HMIS Administrator and Asst. Executive Director about reports
5. Compiles client By Name Lists by sub-population in preparation for case staffing meetings
6. Makes coordinated referrals to providers based on CoC priorities, housing longevity and need
7. Attends all mandatory U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) conferences, training sessions, and workshops
8. Compiles all HUD required reports (HIC, PIT, SyS PM, and LSA)
9. Ensures the security of the Miami-Dade HMIS and integrity of the data stored within and that the HMIS is compliant with data standards
10. Provides support to the HMIS Administrator, Asst. Executive Director & Executive Director in the preparation of data-focused projects, reports and requests received by the Homeless Trust
11. Enhances ability to disseminate information by creating data reports, enhancing existing reports, and facilitating data sharing when required
12. Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required, though persons who feel they meet some but not all criteria are encouraged to apply. Education or Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree or with 3-4 years of experience and/or training on HMIS (OR high school diploma/ equivalent with 5 years of experience/training) required.
2. Prefer candidates who can demonstrate experience with high-level use of an HMIS and who have held a position in which training of users was part of the job duties.
3. Experience developing dashboards.
4. Homeless services experience, especially with affinity group populations (veterans, youth, etc.) is a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities:
1. Advanced computer literacy, demonstrable skill with the Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with software used in a typical office environment.
2. Excellent communication skills, to include the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally to a wide range of audiences.
3. High level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks on varying timetables
4. Ability to conduct self-directed work and/or function as a part of a team.
